Mail Art Bocksbeutel


I was excited to see the catalog for the Mail Art Bocksbeutel show waiting for me in my mailbox.  Roland Halbritter and kulturbunt e.V. – Hamelburg have a done a great job packing the 86 pages full of all you need to know about bock bottles and including all the mail art they received.  My piece appears on the page dedicated to artists who used maps in mail art.

Flaschenpost


This summer I sent my Bocksbeutel postcard (above) off to Roland Halbritter in Nuedlingen Germany for the mail art call (see more here).  Bocksbeutels are those green glass, “flattened” wine bottle often used for some German wines.  In return for my mail art I received a sheet of Bocksbeutel stamps (below).
